Explore the Area

Riverside Relaxation & Catch-and-Release Fishing
Just steps from your door, the pristine headwaters of the Elk River await. Enjoy private access for River Club guests to 2,000 feet of trout-filled waters—perfect for both seasoned anglers and families eager to try fishing together (catch and release, with barbless hooks and artificial bait only). You can also take advantage of the nearby stocked fishing ponds. After a satisfying day by the river, gather around the community fire pit for stories and s'mores beneath the stars. This unique setting combines the serenity of your own cabin with the vibrant amenities of a resort community—all made possible by the home's sought-after Eagles Nest and River Club membership.

Family Fun & Resort-Style Adventures
Bring the whole family to experience a getaway where everyone can find something to love. Let the kids burn off energy at the Great Camp playground, conquer the ropes course (seasonal), or try out the mini-golf course. Sports lovers can head to the ball field, shoot hoops or play pickleball at the North Pavilion, or hike and bike miles of woodland trails. Seasonal summer concerts at the amphitheater (May–November) create unforgettable evenings filled with live music and mountain air. The cabin offers a flexible bedroom setup ideal for families, with a king bed plus two twin beds in the alcove. Please note, some amenities like the climbing tower and ropes course are available seasonally, and there’s a nightly amenity fee supporting this broad range of premium experiences.

Ski, Hike, and Explore the High Country
Located less than 5 minutes from Banner Elk and with three major ski resorts nearby, adventure is never far away. Winter months bring skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing, while warmer seasons unlock a network of hiking and biking trails right inside the Eagles Nest community. Mountain bikers and hikers will find trails of varying difficulty, while more adventurous guests can try their hand at the climbing tower and ropes course (open seasonally). With ATV trail access (rentals only; personal ATVs not permitted), disk golf, and archery ranges, you’ll have myriad ways to immerse yourself in the High Country’s scenic outdoors—most amenities are a short walk or drive from your private, peaceful cabin. Winter travelers: 4WD/AWD vehicles (and sometimes chains) are required due to mountain road conditions.

Wine, Dine & Unwind: Perfect for Couples
Seeking a romantic escape or a peaceful retreat? Your cozy cabin offers a private hot tub—ideal for relaxing in the open air after a day of adventure. Explore Banner Elk’s charming downtown, just 3 miles away, with boutique shops and acclaimed restaurants. For wine enthusiasts, Eagles Nest Winery is just up the hill (day passes available; ages 16+ only), offering tastings with stunning views Thursday–Sunday. Don’t miss the amphitheater’s summer concert series (May–November) for music-filled evenings. The cabin’s serene riverfront setting and luxury amenities invite couples to relax, reconnect, and make lasting memories in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
